About Me

Hi, I'm Melissa Koch, founder of Embodied Healing LLC.  I help deeply feeling women in midlife reconnect with themselves through a compassionate, embodied approach to therapy.  Whether you're unraveling patterns of your childhood, moving through relationships struggles, or simply trying to make sense of your next chapter-I'm here for all of it.

I specialize in somatic and attachment-based therapy, guiding clients toward understanding not just what they think, but what they feel-in their bodies, in their nervous systems, in their relationships. I believe healing doesn't come from pushing harder-it comes from learning how to soften, feel safe in your own skin, an find a truer version of yourself beneath the layers of coping.

I love working with clients long-term--especially those who are curious, self-aware (or want to be), and ready to explore what's underneath.  Some of my clients arrive feeling disconnected, overstimulated, or unsure of who they've become.  Others come in knowing they are sensitive or gifted and are ready to grow with intention.  All of them are brave, and I'm honored to walk alongside them.

My background includes extensive training in Somatic Experiencing, attachment theory, and trauma-Informed care.  I also incorporate EMDR, CBT, and DBT when appropriate.  I have years of experience working in community mental health, substance use recovery, and eating disorder treatment settings, and I continue to provide adjunct somatic work for individuals with eating disorders.
